Functional Wooden Art.

Natural. Unique. Timeless.

Craftsmanship & Finish

Every piece is meticulously turned and finished by hand for daily enjoyment. Because each piece of wood is unique, we customize our finishing process to best highlight the natural grain and provide a durable, food-safe surface.

Depending on the piece, we use a variety of traditional finishes—including pure linseed oil, walnut oil, natural beeswax, and microcrystalline wax—either individually or in combination. For the exact finish used on any specific bowl, select its photo below to view the full details.

⚠ A Note on Allergies: While the natural oil and wax finishes we use are thoroughly cured and safe for food contact, some pieces do utilize pure walnut oil. If you have a severe tree nut allergy, please view the individual bowl details or reach out to us directly before purchasing.

Caring for Your Bowl

A handcrafted wood bowl is a living piece of art—it breathes, responds to its environment, and deepens in character over time. Treat it with a little intention, and it will reward you for generations.

  • When it’s time to clean: Wash quickly using a soft washcloth with warm water and just 1–2 drops of mild dish soap. Hand-dry immediately with a towel—never leave it to air-dry, as prolonged moisture can cause the wood to warp or crack.
  • Restoring the luster: Every now and then, if the wood begins to look a little dry or loses its luster, simply apply a light coat of a food-safe conditioner like Howard Butcher Block Conditioner. Let it sit for about 20 minutes to absorb, then use a clean, dry paper towel or a soft microfiber cloth to buff off the excess and completely restore its rich, natural glow.
  • Always avoid: Dishwashers, microwaves, and boiling-hot liquids. Never submerge or soak the bowl in water. The heat and prolonged moisture will damage the wood and finish.

🍇 A note on vibrant foods: Wood is naturally porous and will absorb pigments from deeply colored foods like tomato sauce, beets, or berries over time—think of it as a natural patina that tells the story of your table. If you prefer to keep the wood pristine, we recommend sticking to lighter foods and using the bowl for dry or lightly dressed items like fruits, nuts, breads, and salads.

Looking for Something Specific?

Every piece of wood tells a different story, and sometimes you have a specific vision in mind. Whether you love a particular wood grain but need a different size, are looking for a specific shape, or want to collaborate on a custom piece for your home, we would love to hear from you.

Let’s Talk About a Custom Piece
“The lathe just reveals what was already inside.”

Each bowl begins as a carefully selected block of premium wood, mounted and turned by hand on a lathe. Using traditional gouges, the wood is shaped gradually to reveal the unique grain pattern, color, and natural character hidden inside — and because no two pieces of wood are identical, every bowl that emerges is truly one of a kind.
